Tour Dunroven Ranch

Dunroven is located in the foothills of the Sierra mountains in central California.




At 3000 feet elevation we are below the snow in winter



and above the cold winter fog and summer smog of the San Joaquin Valley

The weather is mild here in Badger,  
perfect for the rehabilitating equine and for the elder retired equine.



We offer nice large natural paddocks with trees.
Horses are divided as their need demand and can socialize over fences.
Each paddock has a snug walk in stall 
so the horses have a choice to be inside or out.
This gives them plenty of space for exercise as well as 
protection from the elements.



As well as being large and natural with trees our paddocks have flat places and inclines,
this gives the horse natural exercise when in the paddock.



Most of the year oat hay is divided into many piles around the paddock
thus encouraging the horse to walk from pile to pile
simulating natural horse grazing.



All paddocks have covered feed shelters in addition to the walk in stalls. 
These are for feeding in winter keeping the hay out of the mud.




The views from the paddocks are spacious and beautiful.



The horses are turned out with compatible partners for further exercise
and a change of scenery.



Here there are trails on flat terrain



as well as trails on inclines
